Who we are.
We are Doug and Roberta Moore, missionaries with International Messengers. We moved to Romania in 1998 and did ministry from our small apartment until, with God's leading, we founded the River of Life Care Home in 2001, to help women and their children. We are now in the process of building a care home for elderly people in need.

In 1 John 3:8 it says “The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.” God designed the family unit as the foundation of the nations. Satan’s most effective strategy to destroy God’s good works is aimed at destroying the family structure in order to topple societies.
We work with social outcasts, people that the Romanian society say doesn’t matter. But they matter to God. These are people who Satan is trying to destroy through generations of abuse and dysfunction.
God’s desire is to heal these individuals and their families, broken and scarred by abuse, dysfunction and sin. God’s purpose is for salvation, reconciliation and healing and for transforming and renewing of our minds.
In John 8:31-32 Jesus says: “If you continue in my Word then you are truly disciples of mine and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Its God’s plan to destroy the work of the devil in these peoples’ lives.
When we first came to know the Lord we sang this song in our church: “Something beautiful, something good. All my confusion He understood. All I had to offer Him was brokenness and strife. But He made something beautiful of my life.” God transformed our lives and now we get to be a part of watching Him make something beautiful out of other lives as well.

WE BELIEVE the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writing, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the Divine and final authority for Christian faith and life. WE BELIEVE in One God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons. Father, Son and Holy Spirit, having precisely the same nature and worthy of equal worship and obedience. WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is true God and true man. Having been conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a substitutional sacrifice for our sins. He arose bodily from the dead, and ascended into heaven, where He continues His High Priestly ministry at the right hand of the throne of God. WE BELIEVE that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service. WE BELIEVE that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin through Adam and is therefore totally depraved, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. WE BELIEVE that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only those who receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God. WE BELIEVE that water baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation. WE BELIEVE that the true Church is composed of all who through personal faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together as the body of Christ of which He is the Head. WE BELIEVE in the personal and pre-millennial and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this "Blessed Hope" has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. We believe the destiny for the believer is to be present with the Lord and for the unbeliever is to be separated from the presence of the Lord in everlasting punishment. WE BELIEVE the great evangelistic and missionary commission given by Jesus Christ to the disciples and to the continuing church is that of making Christ known throughout the world by word and example and bringing to maturity those who believe in Him through instruction from the Word.
