The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.
1Thessalonians 5:24

"Delight yourselves in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."
Psalm 37:4

(As we delight ourselves in God, He puts His desires in our hearts - so His desires become our desires.)

Prayer Requests

We appreciate so much all the times you have prayed for us- we can feel the difference when you pray!! After so many times, it still amazes me how things change so dramatically when people pray!

We've got two moms and kids in the hospital. Mihaiela's two year old son Victor is in the hospital with a very high fever that keeps going down, but then goes right back up again. He has tonsilitis. Mihaiela is in her last month of pregnancy, please keep her health in prayer that she doesn't pick something up in the hospital. There's a lot of flu going around.

Gina's 6 month old son, Lucian is in the hospital again, too. He was home one day after being there about a week, and then he had to return. He has pneumonia and diariah. Gina's attitude is very bad. We spent a good part of the day discussing as a staff about how to deal with her. Lili called the doctor in the middle of the night because Lucian was sick and she said to call the ambulance for him to go back into the hospital, but when it came, Gina refused to go to the hospital. We made her go in with her baby the next morning, (yesterday) and he turned blue on the way to the hospital and since yesterday has been in intensive care with septic shock. He almost died. I'm certain God will use this experience to teach some things to Gina; I just hope she opens her eyes and sees. She's had an attitude ever since Lucian was born to give him up(highly influenced by Lidia) Maybe this will wake her up.  Some of these mothers are so difficult; but what can we expect when they are controlled by the flesh and not God's Spirit. She has upset each one of our woman staff so much- please pray for us to be able to deal with her properly: the way the Lord wants us to. Please pray for us to be able to love her with His love. We need His wisdom and His attitude to be able to deal with this very difficult woman. She is miserable and she will just continue to destroy her life (but blame everyone else) unless she changes her attitude. Please pray for her to let the Lord transform her and for Him to give us wisdom in dealing with her. Please pray for Victor and Lucian to get proper medical care in the hospital.

All the kids, moms and staff, have been sick with one thing or another over the last few weeks. Some with colds, then bronchitis, and then Lucian's went into pneumonia and now he has this septic shock. Victor has tonsilitis,Tante Maria has had bronchitis off and on, Tante Rada isn't feeling well, and the kids just seem to get one thing after another; the flu, colds, coughs, bronchitis, conjunctivitis. Several of the kids have been going to preschool and they pick up whatever is going around there. Please pray for our kids, moms and staff; for all of our health. There's a bad flu going around.THANKS!

Please pray for Bob, who is driving here from England with his trailer full of medical stuff again. Please pray for him and his friend to arrive safely tonight and for them to get through customs at the border easily and also customs in Timisoara the next few days.

Cristi and Delia are back from the States. Thank you so much for all of you who made them feel so welcome there!! When they got back I was sick with the flu, so we didn't get much of a chance to hear all about their trip- and since then Cristi has been busy getting some updates on some approvals for the accreditation. The health dept and another dept told him we didn't have to get the approvals every year, but then they changed a law and we did. We had our health department inspection and will be approved for that- we just need to wait for the paperwork. And Thursday, we have an inspection for our kitchen. The veterinarian approves kitchens that cook for the public. They want us to hire someone to make a drawing for something- I don't know- we'll have to find out when he comes here this week. We have someone working on the fire dept approval and we are supposed to have an environmental impact but we're going to write a letter and say we don't think we need that. Please pray that all goes smoothly and we receive the written documentations with all the approvals quickly.

Besides having to update these approvals, everything else seemed to be fine for the accreditation papers. This has been something amazing for us. It shows us that God went before us and made it all work. We had no experience running a home like this- and there hadn't been governmental guidelines up till now. But the Lord worked it all out so that all we had been doing is just how it is supposed to be. All of our foundation paperwork and all of our operational procedures- everything- and there is a lot of papers! Everything is how it is supposed to be. God clearly went before us in setting up and operating this home. It may not seem like something as you read this, but for us here, it is proof of God's faithfulness and His going before us and leveling the paths and making a way. It would be one thing if we had experience in setting up and running a home like this-(Then we could say, we did it)- but none of us did- and even to Romanians this paperwork is very foreign, and to us, too! It was clearly God going before us and working out all the details. Ileana was at child protection and they gave her about a two inch stack of paperwork of new laws for maternal homes like ours and we are doing all that the new laws are requiring! God is so good! Child protection wants to make a collaboration contract with our foundation and the new laws say that we will be able to continue to care for the children who the moms of our home abandon! We always wanted to be able to have abandoned babies and kids- and now it looks like we will be able to do that.We never felt that we were supposed to make the paperwork to become a private orphange- which is good because an orphange can only have kids older than two years- but with this new law, we will be able to have even a baby if a mom abandons it.

Another thing just happened today. The teacher we used to work with since we moved here from the 1st through 4th grade school in the village, was transfered to Ortisoara, the main village near here where our mayors office is and the rest of the grades for school. Anyway, I was upset when Alina left because we worked with her for so many years, but today, she brought a bunch of kids from her new school here for a field trip at the care home(!) and she told me she is now the assistant director for the school district- kindergarten thru high school and she wants us to sign a collaboration contract with the school district and wants us to come and teach in all the grades like we did here- as many times a month as we want to! So, we will be able to do what we've done here in this school, but now in the next village with all the grades! We just need the time and staff to be able to do it.I've been real frustrated because we had to cut our kids programs because we don't have the time, staff or translators to be able to do it. But if the Lord is going before us and making it happen- He will work all the details out! Please pray for us to be able to have a great program for the kids in the school distirct. These are the kids that we will be able to build relationships with and have come to our summer camps. It's a great opportunity for expansion. The Lord keeps giving us these oportunities for expansion but we are stretched so thin in all regards.
This is the verse I keep coming back to," Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass." 1 Thessalonians 5:24
We have to believe Him at His Word.

Thanks so much for all your prayers, love and support!!!

In His love,
Doug, Roberta and Antonio and all of us here at the care home
